Ancient civilisations used shadow to tell the time. The Horizon Watch was inspired by these ancient time-keeping methods, as well as the transition between day and night.
The peak in the center of the face depicts a horizon line. As the peak slopes down towards the watch case - a gap between the hands and face is created. This allows the hands to cast a shadow on the watch face in a way which is reminiscent of a sundial.
Crisp geometric forms have been used to compliment the design story and create a simplistic aesthetic - allowing the the shadows to be viewed more clearly.
