BLOND BLOND LABORATORY

BLOND brought together seven of the world’s most exciting industrial designers to be part of BLOND LABORATORY, a touring exhibition that debuted during Milan Design Week 2024 in the heart of Brera. Designed and curated by BLOND, the exhibition featured an international roster including Hirotaka Tako (Sony), John Tree (John Tree), Jon Marshall (Pentagram), Form Us With Love, Julie Richoz (Julie Richoz Studio), Maddalena Casadei (Maddalena Casadei Studio), and James Melia (BLOND). Each designer was invited to respond to the ‘BLOND artefacts’ studio initiative—creating new designs inspired by ‘offline’ real-world objects that are no longer readily in production. BLOND later brought the exhibition to London Design Festival, designing and fabricating a custom flat-packable aluminium framework incorporating walls, lighting and displays to transform the space without modifying the existing building. Following the exhibition, the structure and panels were disassembled and reused within the BLOND studio for further practical uses.
