Avira Smart Breastfeeding Pump

Biomimetic breastfeeding, designed around both mother and child Avira Health is developing technologies that support mothers and infants through one of the most emotionally and physically demanding stages of early parenthood. The Smart Feeding Pump reimagines breastfeeding by moving beyond milk extraction alone, introducing a device that actively supports the natural relationship between mother and child through biomimetic technology. BLOND partnered with Avira Health to design a product that felt fundamentally different from traditional breast pumps. Existing products are often clinical, cumbersome and engineered around efficiency, leaving the emotional experience of feeding largely overlooked. The ambition was to create a device that mothers could instinctively trust—one that felt reassuring, discreet and appropriate within both home and clinical environments while reflecting the significance of the moment it was designed to support.
